Denaby Ings

This site was established in 1967; 32ha; managed by the Y.W.T.; located 8km west of Doncaster.
Today, the site's value is based on the continuity of riparian habitats, dominated by Crack Willows and their associated insect populations and the more recent ornithological interest resulting from mining subsidence.

Denably Ings lies in an area of great contrast at the interface of Coal Measures and Magnesian Limestone.
To the north, the wooded limestone slopes near High Melton provide a beautiful backdrop to the view across the Ings.
To the south and east, however, the extensive areas of colliery tipping provide a stark contrast.
